About:Beijing City Bus

do beijing sightseeing trolley bus still run in 2018?

can you get on these at any stop? do you pay the driver for a round trip? how long does one round trip take? thank you.

Yes, it still runs but I think you can only get on at the first stop. The first stop of line 1 is Yongdingmen, that of line 2 is Zhengyangmen.
The bus ticket is bought on the bus.

Thank you Terra. I read somewhere that one of the lines starts at Qianmen - is that wrong? Do you (or does anyone else) know how long a round trip takes, please?

Yes, that’s right! Line 2 is from Qianmen! As for the duration, I guess it’s no more than 1h.

Thank you, Peter! This is helpful. So - both trips are NOT hop-on/off, you get on at Yongdimen (Line 1) or Qianmen (Line 2) & stay on for the whole round trip, arriving back where we got on, taking 1hour each trip?

Well, I once took the bus, no one gets on or off during the trip, so I guess it’s not a hop-on/off one. As I remember, it took about 15mins for a single trip, so may be 30mins for a round one.
