About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Transit visa. Any ideas whether you should have a hotel booked?

Hi guys. We tried to do this on route to Thailand from Jeju, however they wouldn’t let us. From UK and Ireland.

Hoping to do it on route back as have a 12 hour layover and would like to explore Shanghai for the night.

Having a confirmed hotel booking and/or needing to collect checked bags seems to be required at the moment for short transits in Shanghai.
