About:144-hour Visa-free Transit in Beijing, Tianjin & Hebei

arrival by train from Mongolia

Arriving on the trans-Mongolian train from Ulan Bataar into Beijing, duration of stay 20-23 July, departing from BJS back to the UK - do I need a visa? Do they check visas at the border, or will I be able to apply for the 144 hour transit visa at the station (assuming I arrive BJS west train station)?

Many thanks

SR

You need a visa in advance. You won't arrive at west railway station.

Thanks for the info...shame, as not needing a visa would save £150!! Guess there's no way around this - changing trains en route?

Yes, it's stupidly expensive for U.K. citizens. No way around it that I know, sorry.
