time taken from Guangzhou to Inner Mongolia and is there a speed train or by air?

Hi, there are many cities in Inner Mongolia. May I know which is your destination? Let's say, you wanna go to Hohhot, the capital city of Inner Mongolia, there is only one train from Guangzhou, K600/K597, which takes around 40 hours. No speed train is available. The direct airplane between the two cities only takes around 3.5h.
