144hr visa free

I arrive in Shanghai by cruise ship for less than 72hr stay, does this qualify for the 144hr visa free?

If you are traveling Country A - Shanghai (144 hours) - Country B then you qualify for the 144 hr free transit in Shanghai. Nice trip.
