About:Shenzhen Transportation

Hi, im going to Shenzhen this mid of April. Appreciate if anyone can advise on the following:-

1) where to buy the Shenzhen Tong Card
2) how much will it costs for the first time buyer?
3) how to travel from hubei station (near Dong Men) to Lo Wu station in Hong Kong? How to cross the border?
4) is there any halal food near Dong Men area?

It can be bought at the tickets window of subway stations. It costs CNY 20 as a deposit and CNY 50, 100, 150… needed to be topped.

To Lo Wu, you can take bus 17 to Huochezhan and then go south for several minutes to the border. After the immigration inspection, you will enter HK.

For halal foods, I happen to know a Zhongfayuan Halal Restaurant in the first floor of Nanhua Building in Nanji Rd, Luohu District. It’s about 200m south to Hubei Subway Station.

Hi Liela, Thanks for the reply, very informative! Btw, am i supposed to take the bus to Huochezhan from HUbei Station? to reach the immigration i need to walk a bit? is it convenient to walk with luggages, an toddler?
or do you have any other best option to enter Hong Kong from Shenzhen. I will be staying at hotel near Dong Men Street. I will be staying at Mong Kuk Hong Kong.

Don’t worry! It’s not far, less than 500m south, you can get to the immigration. To be honest, I don’t think there is a better choice.
Oh, it’s in Mong Kok you will stay in HK, right? Then, you can take East Rail Line from Lo Wu to Kowloon Tong and change to Kwun Tong Line. Then, get off at Mong Kok.
