About:Xiamen Travel

I am traveling from LAX to Bangkok and I have a 5 hours layover in Xiamen, China.

However, there is a stop of two hours at the TAO airport in between. It does not seem like we are changing planes, but I e-mailed the embassy and called the airline just to be sure that I do not need a visa. I am a US citizen. The embassy e-mailed me back and said that I do not need it. However, when I called the airline they were not sure and told me to contact the airports directly, not the embassy. XM airlines provides an awful customer service and I really need to know this information. Thanks!

If your stay in the two airports is less than 24h, no visa is needed! If not, you need to get a visa in advance.
