About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I m Australian, can I fly into Beijing and to Europe wishing 144hrs on the transit visa?

My girlfriend is Canadian, does this apply to her too?

Do we need to do any paper work prior to getting there or just do te arrival departure card and have info of accommodation
Thanks

Yes, both of you will qualify for the 144 h free transit in Beijing. Just have your arrival card, onward boarding pass and passport ready. Nice trip.

we are flying from Vietnam into Beijing, then to Milan. We are not flying from either of our home countries in transit through china. Is this an issue? A lot of the sites I have read say that you need to be flying from home or flying home via china to get the 144 he visa. Is this true.

Thank you very much for your help!

Country A - China - Country B

A or B don´t must be your home country.
The chinese immigration just care that A and B are different countries, they don´t care if it´s your home country or not.
