landing by air to Shanghai for 20 hours staying in hotel 1 night do I need Visa or 72 transit?

Philip, if your travel route qualifies for the free transit policy, you can apply for the 24 hr direct transit in Shanghai. You could apply for it at the airport and could be let in when you show their your hotel booking confirmations.
