About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Urgent need to book flights today

Hi, i need a 72 hour free exemption and need to book flights today and need your advice. The flight is Melbourne to Guangzhou but with a 1 hour stop in Hong Kong before it leaves for Guangzhou. I will then be leaving within 48 hours on a flight going Guangzhou to Melbourne Direct. Seeing this is Melbourne>Hong Kong->Guangzhou->Melbourne, am i ok to assume I can apply for TWOV for 72 hours.

Please help me I need answer urgently and ive called airlines but noone helps. Embassy not open weekends.

As long as HKG to Guangzhou is by plane and Guangzhou-Australia has no stops in HK or mainland china the way back to Australia then ok for Transit With Out Visa.
