best option from chengdu airport to city center for seniors

We are 2 seniors visiting CD for the first time. Staying at Holiday Inn Express Gulou. Would the taxi driver know the address in English? How much to pay for the ride?Alternatively if we take the Metro, which station would be the nearest the hotel.Thank you

It is best to take a taxi for you two and the fare can be CNY 60 or so. Usually the driver does not speak English, so it is best to prepare a note with the Chinese name and address of your hotel.I don't recommend you take metro, because two transfer is needed. Anyway, the closest metro station from your hotel is South Taisheng Road, exit D of line 4.
