About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Two Flights Through Beijing

My husband and I booked round trip tickets from Salt Lake City to Beijing, and then separate tickets to Bangkok and then returning back through Beijing from Phuket. We won't leave the airport on our first leg, but we're spending two days in Beijing on the way back. How does the 144 hour visa work if we need to go through beijing airport 12 days before we actually spend any time in Beijing?

Hi, if your travel route would be Salt Lake-Beijing (2 hours)-Bangkok-Phuket-Beijing (2 days)-Salt Lake, you can enjoy free transit in Beijing in both ways. No need to apply for a visa for the trip.
