Double transit, long layovers in China

Hi, I'm American and flying Thailand - Kunming (22 hours) - Shanghai (23 hours) - U.S.
Would I qualify for visa-free transit during each of these long layovers in China?
Thank you!!

You won't qualify for visa-free transit in China because your total layover time in China exceeds 24 hours. Try to apply for a visa beforehand.
