About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Transit status?

I have a British passport. Will be flying from Hong Kong to Shanghai, staying less than 72 hours in Shanghai, then flying to the UK.
I think this should qualify for transit status - can anyone confirm?
Thanks
