Chicago-Beijing Roundtrip ticket with separate Beijing-Ulaanbatar ticket

Hello,

I bought a round trip ticket from Chicago to BJ. I want to stay 4 days in BJ then buy a separate round trip ticket from BJ to Ulaanbaatar. I would then arrive back in BJ one day earlier before flying home to Chicago. Does my itinerary qualify for the 144 hour visa?

I am afraid not. Beijing West Train Station is the only border for 144h visa waiver, but the train for Ulaanbaatar leaves from Main Railway Station. If you really wanna use the visa-free policy, you may take a transit in HK instead.
