About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hong kong shanghai Beijing - does the 144 hour visa apply?

Hi - I am travelling into HK then onto Shanghai and Beijing - if I fly out of Shanghai, does the 144 hour free transit apply? can I fly out of Beijing too? (back to UK)

No. You need a visa for that. 144 hrs transit without visa allows you to transit in Beijing, or Shanghai, but not both.
