L-visa lengths

Hi,

I have done a bit of research for an upcoming trip but can't seem to find any clear breakdown on the length of entry permit that I can get. I want 3-months at a minimum, ideally 6 if that is possible.

Also, myself and a friend are doing a 3-month hike and filming the trip (professionally as I am a cameraman) - would that be ok on the L- or would I need to get a J2? It seems like a J2 is only 15 days though... Would it be possible to get a longer one?

Many thanks!

Max, maybe you can apply for a half year multiple entries tourist L type for that.

Thank you.

With a 6-month L-class, could you tell me the costs and the expected time for it to be approved? I read somewhere that it was $60USD and takes roughly 1 month but I'd like to make sure as these things often change without websites updating. Thanks!

If you are a British citizen, the application fee is £85, plus costs charged by the visa center. L types issued to British citizens are valid for two years and 90 days of stay per entry.
