is s2 only for work permit x

Question

I am planning on applying for Visa type S2 but the relative has a work permit for category B. So I'm wondering whether the relative must strictly have a work permit for category X?Also, I am told an interview is mandatory. What can I expect to be asked from a S2 interview?

If the relative has a residence permit, it's possible for you to apply for the S type. Usually, the consular officers may inquire your basic personal information and your detailed travel itinerary such as why you go to China, how long you will stay, which city you will go etc.
