About:144-hour Visa-free Transit in Beijing, Tianjin & Hebei

Entering China from Mongolia on the Mongolian Express train

I will take the overnight Mongolian Express train from Ulaanbaatar to Beijing, and will then spend one night in BJ before flying to home to the US. Can I use the visa fee transit even though I will be entering China at the border of Mongolia and China, but not disembarking the train until I get to BJ? Thank you.

I'm not sure about the answer above. Only West Railway Station is a valid port of entry by train if you don't have a visa. If your train arrives at any other railway station in the city then you need a Chinese visa in advance.

You will need a visa, as Rob says the 144 Hour Transit With Out Visa only applies at BJ West Station and you will be entering China at the border with Mongolia which is not covered by the scheme.
