About:China Transit Visa

Sister Traveling to Thailand via Shanghai , Lax -Shanghai-Bangkok and vice versa.

Does she require a visa for her 4 hour layover in Shanghai? She’s an American citizen and not planning leave the airport. Thanks .

No, she doesn't. For both trips, she is eligible for the 144 hrs free transit in Shanghai.
