About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I am permanent resident in Canada but i hold a philippine passport. I have a 24 hrs lay over in Shan

I am permanent resident in Canada but i hold a philippine passeport. Do i need a visa to stay in China?

You do not need a visa if your layover is within 24 hours and not a minute more, however whether you can leave the airport is up to the immigration officer and recently many applications to leave the airport are refused. If you don't want to take any chances, you can get a transit visa from the Chinese embassy or consulate.
