Visa application in Macao

Hello,

I am a French passport holder and I am planning a China visit trip starting with two or three days in Macao. Is it very risky to wait to be in Macao to issue my tourist visa, or is it completely fine? also, am I going to waste a lot of time over there at the office? and can I do it at the Macao airport upon arrival?
