Shanghai 144hr visa, australian passport, flying out of delhi

Hi all
I am working in India on Australian passport. I want to visit Chinese suppliers in Shanghai for a few days. Would I be able to apply for the 72hr or 144hr free transit. Does the fact I am flying in/out of Delhi make a difference.
Thanks
Garth

Garth, if you travel India – shanghai-India, you cannot enjoy the 144 hour free transit. You need to apply for a tourist l type in advance.

I am starting to understand this third country thing.
If I fly India, Malaysia, china, India, then I think I can go 144hrs. Is that right
