About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Dubai to Guangzhou back to Dubai

I'm guessing traveling from dubai to Guangzhou and back to Dubai within 29 hours is not permitted? Do I have to arrive to from a different city and then fly back out to Dubai to make it permittable?

If so, you cannot enjoy the 72 hour free transit in Guangzhou as it is nto a transit at all.
You should travel like Dubai-Guangzhou-a third country or region – Dubai.

Thank you for your reply. I actually went about it as traveling to Thailand from Dubai. Thailand to Guangzhou and then back to Dubai. Hopefully that works
