You need a visa since the 144-hour transit does not allow you to visit more than one region.

Dear, may I know where BK is?
If you want to use the 144 hour visa-free transit in Shanghai, you should travel London-Vietnam – Shanghai – a third country or region rather than Vietnam- London.
