About:China Visa Renewal and Extension

Can I do RENEWAL of L type in China? Or do I need to go back to my country for renewal?

I had a multiple entry tourist L type that was about to expire. I got EXTENSION done for 30 day.
Can I now apply for RENEWAL of my multiple entry L type here in China itslef? Or do I need to go back to my country to do that?
What are the other options? My husband has moved to China & has a work visa & residence permit. I need to extend my stay by another 45-60 days.

Shen, no, you cannot renew it within China. You need to go back to your home country to apply for a new tourist L type.
Or you can apply for an S2 type.

You can try to change your tourist visa to S2 visa at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB within China. If it cna be done, you don't need to go back to your home country.
