About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

beijing 144hr visa free transit

I am a bit confused reading all the info,
I am travelling from the UK to Vietnam via Beijing taking advantage of the visa free transit, and
doing the same on the return trip, Vietnam to UK via free stop in Beijing.
is this allowed under the scheme?
