About:First Time China

Transiting through Shanghai (1 hr 40 mins) and Kunming (22 hrs 45 mins)

Hi, I am travelling from Canada to India and have 2 stops on my way in - 1 hr 40 mins in Shanghai and 22 hrs 45 mins in Kunming. My total travel time just exceeds 24 hrs. I am hoping to find an hotel in the airport at Kunming, but otherwise can I get a transit visa in case I need to step out? I will be travelling with 2 little kids (1 and 4 year old) so any information will be super helpful.

In your case, you do need to apply for a visa in advance.
As for hotels, I happen to know a Rosedale Hotel near the subway station of the airport.
