About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do I need a visa for a day in Shanghai either side of a 5 night cruise?

I am flying from Australia to Bangkok, then on to Shanghai for a night or 2, hopping on a 5 night cruise to Japan, then back to Shanghai for 1 more night and then flying out to Australia?

Linda, no visa will be needed for that because you can use the visa-free transit in Shanghai in both directions.
