About:Wuxi Ancient Kilns Relics Museum

Hi, I will apply for a short term student X type

and I got invitation letter from Shanghai jiao tong university, from 5th of March until 3rd of April.
Do you advice me to apply for the exact dates or I can stretch my stay a bit longer, say arrive earlier than 3rd and leave after the 4th.
Will they issue me a visa for the exact study duration or longer ?
