Is it possible to convert a student residence permit to a marriage residence permit within China?

I'm an American university student in China who will be graduating from my program in a few months, and married to a Chinese local already, so I'm worried about whether I'll be allowed to apply to convert my current student's residence permit to a family/marriage residence permit WITHOUT leaving China first. We both live Zhejiang province if anyone has any experience with that area.

Based on what I know, it’s possible for you to do that within China. You can give it a try at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB.
