About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

US Citizen go to Thailand

Do I need a Visa if I am flying to Beijing on one airline/ticket with baggage to claim in order to fly to Phuket Thailand on a different airline/ticket (lands in Guangzhou then transfer planes to Phuket). Plane would arrive in Beijing at 2PM on April 3, 2018 and leave at 6:30PM April 3, 2018.

Aaron, if your total layover in Beijing and Guangzhou is within 24 hours, you can enjoy the 24 hour direct transit.

So no issue with having to go through immigration to get baggage and re check it in to a different airline?
