Q2 to resident permit

Hi,
I want to know if i can come with a Q2 type as a foreign student then apply in China a resident permit?
The university sent me the visa application form for X2 type but i already have the Q2 one in my passport (still valid for a year).

Marifa, no, you cannot get a residence permit with a Q2 type. besides, you had better apply for a student X2 type to study in China.
