how long does it take to transfer visa to new passport?

i'm a student here in china so i have my residence permit. and i recently renew my passport & heard i have to transfer it within 10 days. Some of my friend actually said it took 2 weeks to transfer it. but i have flight to catch up by next week. does it really takes 2 weeks? if yes, can i pay more to get it done earlier?

The visa cannot be transferred to new passport. As far as I know, you can hold both old and new passports to travel around. Or you mean you want to renew your residence permit? If yes, you should do that 30 days before its expiry date. Usually, it may be okay as long as you submit the application before it expires.
