About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can you travel to beijing for 2 days attend a conference and come home the same route.

or would you have to have an anward ticket to Dubai for example stay over night and then come back to your destination

You must travel Country A-Beijing-Country B. But you don't have to stay overnight in A or B.
