About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

US Citizen: Hong kong - Xian - Hong Kong - Greece

Can I utilize the 72-hour transit visa if I plan on flying back to Hong Kong and then to Greece in the same day? For example, I fly from Hong Kong to Xian May 1st. Then back to Hong Kong on May 4th and then from Hong Kong to Greece later that day. Is this feasible ??

You need a visa. Hong Kong-China-Hong Kong isn't a transit.
