I am flying from Yangon, Myanmar to Los Angeles and will utilize the 72 hours transit in Kunming.I read the information from your site Passengers transiting in Chongqing,.. Kunming,..cannot leave the transit city. , so wondering if I can have a trip to the Dongchuan red land (still kunming, but not IN the city) and stay overnight there ? Thank you !Shse

As long as it's inside the city's administrative boundaries you will be OK. Doesn't have to be downtown of the city.
