Chengdu - Leshan Intercity High Speed Train

We'll be staying close to Chengdu Airport and want to travel to Leshan. However in response to a question posed by Amy Tan from SINGAPORE | Oct. 03, 2017, "Helman" said on Oct 8, 2017 "No ride available from Shuangliu Airport. You can only board at Chengdu station, east or south station.". Is this really the case that we would have to travel into the city to board a train, but when returning we could alight at the airport an take a very short taxi ride to our hotel ?
