About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

From delhi to shanghai arriving by air

We are german citizen planning a trip to Shanghai and do a 12 days cruise starting from Shanghai (goes to beijing, osaka) and ending in Tokyo.
We will be fying from Delhi to Shanghai and we plan to explore Shanghai for 2days before the cruise starts. Are we elligible for this 144 hr visa exemption? TIA

No, because you will go to Beijing.

Is the cruise ship going to Beijing? Beijing does not have a port. If the cruise does not stop in a China city after leaving Shanghai, then transit visa free applies.
