About:China Transit Visa

Does Taiwan - Shanghai - France after France - Shanghai - Taiwan require multi-entries visa ?

Hi,

I'm going to travel from France to Shanghai in January, then go from Shanghai to Taiwan (Taipei), then Taiwan - Shanghai, and then almost immediately leave Shanghai to return to France.
I know that I need a visa for the first trip to Shanghai, but does the second (Taiwan - Shanghai - France) require me to file for a multi-entries one or do I qualify for the 24-hour free transit status ?

Thanks a lot !

Clement, if hold France passport and your layover in Shanghai is less than 144 hours each time, you can use the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai. No visa will be needed then.

Thank you for your answer,

My first stay in Shanghai will be longer than 144 hours, so I will need the visa, but thanks for the confirmation that I won't need it the second time.
If you could tell me how I can apply for the 24/72 hours free transit, it would be great !

Best regards
