About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

OKI - PEK - SIN... SIN - PEK- OKI??

If I am flying from Okinawa, Japan and I have a layover in Beijing (less than 9hrs) before the next flight leaves to Singapore , can I use the 72hr policy?

Also would i be able to do the same on the return trip which is from Singapore - Beijing - Okinawa? Or do I need to get a visa before hand?
