About prepaid railway pass

Is there a way to tell which bullet trains you can use the railway pass and which you cannot? For example, a month ago, I used to be able to use the prepaid railway pass for G7255 from Suzhou to Shanghai but now the train staff said I cannot use it anymore, and it doesn't work at the check-in machine.
