About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I am flying from LAX to Shanghai (5 hr layover) then to Bangkok. Would I be required to

Obtain a visa for any reason or will my passport be enough? It is currently valid with well over 6 mo plus before expiration. Your answer will be appreciated.

Sarah, you are eligible for the 24 hour direct transit in Shanghai, and no visa is needed. You can travel directly by bringing your passport, the return or onward ticket and enough travel fees. Nice trip.
