About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Is there anything I need to do prior for the 72 hour visa free transit?

Going from USA to Japan to Beijing for 72 hours then back to USA. Do I qualify for the 72 hour free transit (I believe I should) but do I have to do anything prior or do I receive the 72 hour free transit document when I land in Beijing?

Japan-Beijing(72 hours)-USA on non-stop flights qualifies for visa-free transit. You only need to show your confirmed onward flight tickets when you check-in and/or board your flights to China.

My flight lands in Bejing at 12.35pm and leaves 3 days later at 7.30 going over the 72 hour limit which starts the minute you arrive in Beijing apparently. Who could I contact for conformation that I will not need an entry permit?

Beijing has a strict 72-hour policy so you must get a visa or change your flights. Calling the immigration will get you the same answer.
