About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Entering twice China with 72-hour Visa once by plane once by train.

I have question regarding the Chinese entry permit.
My plan is to arrive on the 11th of February in Beijing, China from Sydney. Then on the 13th of February leave to DPRK and return to Beijing on the 18/19th of February and leave again on the 20th from Beijing to Germany.

As we are taking the train from Pyongyang, can I apply for the 72-hour free transit in China twice? Once before going to DPRK and once coming back to China with the train?

72-hour visa-free transit is only available if you fly non-stop into and out of China.

So since I am taking the train back into China, I cannot apply for the 72-hour free transit?
