Beijing to Hong Kong with 72 hour free transit

Can I apply for a 72 hour visa in Beijing before flying to Hong Kong within that time duration?

Hi, if you travel like UK-Beijing(72 hours)-HK, you can use the 72 hour free transit in Beijing. No visa will be needed then.
