24 Hour Transit Visa at Shanghai Pu Dong (PVG) for Indian Passport Holder ?

I am an Indian Citizen and travelling to India from Chicago (USA) by China Eastern Airline and have a layover of 19 hrs at Shanghai Pu Dong (PVG) Airport. Can you please confirm do I need to get a transit G from China embassy if I want to go out of airport to explore city and come back again at Airport terminal for my next connection flight to Delhi ?

Hi, you don't need a visa for that, but you may be required to apply for a free temporary stay permit at the immigration office inside Shanghai airport. Afterwards, you can leave the airport to explore the city.
