HNL to PEK to ICN and back

I am traveling to Seoul from Hawaii w/ a layover in Beijing from 11:45 pm 17 NOV - 7:15 pm 18 NOV
(19h 30m total layover). I have a similar layover on the return flight. Would I need a visa for a brief excursion outside the airport?

Hi, you will qualify for the 24 hour direct transit in Beijing if your layover time is within 24 hours. No visa is required, and just apply for a free temporary stay permit at the immigration office to leave the airport to explore the city.
