About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

19 hrs 5 mins layover in Guangzhou in Dec 2017.

Can I apply Transit entry permit inside Baiyun Airport? Is it free?

Hi, if you will go to a third country or region different from the last one you come from after transiting in Guangzhou, you can apply for the 24 hour direct transit which is free of charge in the airport.

Exiting the airport is no longer possible since August 2017 for persons with layovers less than 24 hours.

If you are a citizen of the 51 countries eligible for the 72hour TWOV, and if Guangzhou is the only transit city in your itinerary then you do not need a visa. Otherwise, you are adviced to secure a transit visa before your trip. I'll be making the same trip on December and I applied for a transit visa to be sure.

And also, if you are flying with CHINA Southern, you might want to take advantage of their free one night hotel accommodation in Guangzhou since your layover is more than 8 hours.

Hi, as I know, you can apply for the transit visa beforehand from the China embassy or consulate in your home country. You can contact the airline to inquire the information about free one night hotel accommodation in Guangzhou.
