About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Quick stop over in Chengdu

Hello, we are doing a stop in Chengdu before our flight to Hanoi the following day.

We go Toronto - 3h45min layover in Beijing (PEK) - Chengdu (CTU). Then fly to Hanoi 30 hours later out of Chengdu (CTU). Do we qualify for 72 hour free transit or have to apply for a full entry permit before we leave?

You need a visa. You have two stops in China and you're staying more than 24 hours.
